Reviews

What clients say.

Legal matters are private, so we publish initials and the kind of matter, never a full name. Every review here was left by a client we can match to a file.

The numbers

4.9average of 41 reviews, 5 point scale

Nine of them, in their words.

The fee they quoted on the first call was the fee on the last invoice. I did not think law firms did that. The cover memo explained our trust better than the trust did.

R.M. Living trust package, Los Gatos

My mother's trust had four accounts and a house in Saratoga. Priya had the whole calendar laid out before I knew what a 16061.7 notice was. Eight months, start to finish.

A.K. Trust administration, Saratoga

Marcus got our CPA on the phone, settled LLC versus S corp in forty minutes, and had the filing in the same week. The operating agreement is four pages and we understand all of them.

T.D. Business formation, Campbell

Dad died with a will and a house and nothing else. Dana told us on the first call that probate would take about a year and cost $28,000, and both numbers were right. She also told us how to avoid it for ourselves.

J.P. Probate, San Jose

Sent a 30 page vendor contract on a Monday with a Friday deadline. Got a one page memo Wednesday with three clauses to push back on. The vendor accepted two of them.

S.L. Contract review, Los Gatos

Our neighbor's new fence was three feet onto our lot. Marcus wrote one letter and drafted an easement both sides could live with. No lawsuit, and we still wave at each other.

H.W. Boundary dispute, Monte Sereno

We had a trust from 2011 and a refinance from 2019. The $900 review found the house had been deeded out and never put back. Fixed for $450. That review paid for itself fifty times over.

M.C. Trust review, Los Gatos

New baby, renting, not much saved. They told us we did not need a trust yet and sold us the will package instead, for less. Who talks you down to the cheaper thing?

E.R. Will plus powers of attorney, Campbell

Jonah answers the phone. An actual person, by the second ring, who knows which file you are. After two years with a bigger firm, that alone was worth the switch.

How reviews work here

Initials only, on purpose.

Attorney client privilege belongs to the client, not to us, and a review that names you and your matter gives part of it away. So we ask every client who leaves a public review whether we may quote it, and we publish initials, the town and the kind of matter. Nothing more. If you recognize yourself and would rather we took it down, one email does it.

We do not ask for a review at signing. Jonah's check-in email two years later asks whether anything has changed and, at the bottom, whether the plan has done its job. The reviews that come from that question are the ones worth reading, because by then the trust has usually been tested by a bank, a title company or a hospital.

The matters above are the firm's everyday work. If one of them sounds like your week, the practice areas page has the fee and the process, and the consult is where it starts.
