The people

Two attorneys. One point of contact.

The attorney you meet at the consult is the attorney who drafts, reviews and signs with you. Here is who that will be.

  • A fountain pen on a signed trust, Dana's desk after a signing

    Founding attorney / Estate planning

    Dana Whitfield

Dana handles every will, trust, power of attorney and trust administration that comes through the door. She founded the firm in 2012 after eight years at a Palo Alto trusts and estates group, where she drafted plans for founders and farm families alike and learned that the hard part is never the law. It is getting a family to decide.

She teaches a free estate planning evening at the Los Gatos Library twice a year and has written the plain English cover memo that ships with every plan since the first one.

Attorney / Business and real estate

    Marcus Oyelaran

Marcus forms the companies, writes the contracts and handles the property work. Before joining in 2017 he spent six years as the only lawyer inside a Campbell general contractor, reviewing leases, subcontracts and lien claims from the owner's chair. He still reads every agreement asking one question: what happens on the bad day.

He likes a formation meeting with the client's CPA on speaker, because the numbers on that call settle the entity question faster than any memo he could write.

Staff

The two people who keep it moving.

  • Archival document boxes and bound volumes in the records cabinet Priya keeps

Paralegal / Trust administration and probate

    Priya Natarajan

Priya runs the calendar on every trust administration and probate. The 16061.7 notices, the creditor claim windows, the inventory and appraisal, the accountings: she has each deadline on the board before the client has finished their first cup of coffee. She also handles deed recordings and account retitling for new trusts.

Clients who have just lost someone talk to Priya more than to anyone else here. She is good at it.

  • The firm's storefront on Main Street at dusk, the lobby Jonah greets clients in

    Client coordinator

    Jonah Reyes

Jonah books the consults, sends the engagement letters, collects the documents, chases the signatures and answers the phone by the second ring. He can approve a payment plan without asking an attorney, and he knows which notary is free on a Thursday evening.

If you email the firm, Jonah replies the same business day with a real answer or a real time.
